On your initial contact to king's Group you will be assigned a personal move consultant, during this first phone call your consultant will arrange to come to your home and perform a visual survey of all of your household goods to be move. Your move consultant will then create an itemized custom quote which they will email to you for your approval. For local moves the quote will be based on an hourly rate, for long distance it will be based on the weight of the shipment.

The consultant will also determine if you are in needof storage or packing services or any specialized third party services such as crating for things like; paintings, Grandfather clocks, sculptures and all of those fragile items that need special care. On long distance moves you may also be in need of vehicle relocation, your move consultant will be more than happy to arrange any of these services for you.

The move consultant will supply you with all necessary move information in the form of a booklet and explain the move process to you!! If you are moving across the border they will walk you through the process and supply you with all the pertinent paperwork that's needed to ship your goods.

From the first point of contact to the delivery of your goods we will be there to ensure things go as smoothly as possible!

Atlas Ware-houses are government approved, Pest-controlled, sprinklered and climatically controlled with proper alarms and security. Each shipment is inspected for damage upon arrival to our facility and properly recorded in a storage log. Should you require access to your storage lot it can be arranged for a small fee.

INVOLVE THE KIDS AND HAVE FUN!!

It's very important to make your kids feel like this is their move as much as yours. Involve them in the packing if you are taking care of your own packing. It's a great idea to get your kids to pack their own room, with the exception of valuable items which the parent should take care of.

Giving them their own little "To Do" list so they feel like they are part of the process is one way to ease some of their tension. Many local libraries have books dedicated to the subject of moving as it relates to young children.

King's provides a KIDS TO GO BOX  which can hold all of their most precious belongings and can be colored by them and make their stuff feel important. One of the most important things to remember is that this is hard on your kids and the more you get them involved in decisions the more confident and comfortable they will become with the move. Just remember this is a huge change for you as well as them......Just try to have fun with it!!

 

Juggling Logistics

 

 Many of us think that when we move our Household goods, they are put on a truck and taken directly to our new residence. On local moves this may be the case, but if you are moving out of the city, country or globally, there is a whole team behind organizing the pick up, packing, and delivery of your goods. 

 There are several factors in organizing the relocation of a household, we rely on a system called the transit time guide (TTG) which determines the delivery window of all shipments. Our tractor trailers can hold between 25,000 and 30,000 lbs., so for environmental and economical reasons we want to fill our trailers to capacity and utilize all available space. This is where Logistics comes into play. We may load several shipments on one trailer from different origins, destined for several different locations. This could mean a small shipment from the point of origin to the point of destination could have a longer delivery spread than a larger shipment moving to the same destination. This is much more complicated than it seems. There may also be more than one hauler to get your shipment to it's destination, or the possibility of storage required.  

There is also the organization of specialized services like crating of TV's and artwork, dismantling of larger items such as Pool tables, as well as organizing vehicle transport. These specialized services have to be organized according to the packing and loading date of each specific shipment.

Paperwork is of huge importance especially when moving out of the country. Customs requires loads of documents that are needed to move Cross border. It's important for the Dispatcher to have all required paperwork to distribute to the all coordinating haulers.
